The Studio Microphone Classic

The Neumann U87 Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone is one of the most commonly used microphones in our studio here at Trod Nossel. It has been used on a wide variety of instruments such as acoustic guitar, violin, cello and all other types of stringed instruments. It has the ability to accurately capture the room ambiance of a performance. It’s also been used on guitar amps, drums and percussion, choir and most commonly, lead and background vocals and dialogue.

The U87 has a relatively flat frequency response, which allows for an accurate representation of a vocal or instrument being recorded without any additional, unwanted frequency boosts or cuts. If there is one mic that is used to capture virtually any sound accurately, it’s the Neumann U87, and we’ve got it here, at Trod Nossel Studios.
